August at IME: Beautiful Boxes,
Special Stories and a Little Bit of Magic
August turned into a wonderfully busy month for IME, and I have loved every minute of it!
IME boxes made their way to the Central Coast, Perth, Melbourne and Crookwell, as well as being hand-delivered locally throughout Goulburn. There is something quite exciting about packing a box here at home, knowing it will soon arrive on someone’s doorstep hundreds, or even thousands, of kilometres away.
Every box has its own story. Some are sent to celebrate a milestone, some to offer comfort or encouragement, some simply to say thank you, and others are created to remind someone just how loved and appreciated they truly are.
This little business has been so good for my soul.
There is a generous and genuine need within me to make people feel appreciated, loved and seen. IME gives me the opportunity to take that feeling and turn it into something tangible: a beautiful box filled with thoughtful pieces, chosen specifically for the person receiving it.
What a privilege it is to be part of something that is ultimately so personal between the person giving the gift and the recipient. Some of the stories shared with me are incredibly special, and sometimes quite sacred. Being trusted with those stories, and asked to capture their meaning in a gift, is something I never take lightly.
There is often so much more inside an IME box than the products themselves. There is love, gratitude, kindness, celebration, friendship and, occasionally, a little bit of “I didn’t know what to buy, but I knew you would!” No pressure, then!
I am still learning what works, what doesn’t, and what makes an IME box feel extra special. I continue to search for beautiful, meaningful and sometimes magical pieces to include. There is a lot of excitement when new stock arrives, followed by the very real struggle of deciding whether I can actually bear to part with it!
Some pieces almost become permanent residents before I remind myself that they were, in fact, purchased for the business.
IME continues to grow, evolve and find its own special place. Through it all, I want to hold onto the heart behind the business: creating gifts that feel thoughtful, personal and memorable.
